The Itch For Distraction

October 12, 2020

One of the biggest tendencies I'm learning to de-couple is the habit of always needing to distract myself with a waterfall of informative content. Either checking news stories or blog posts, there is this odd desire left over in the absence of no social media usage that I need to be mindlessly feeling myself with an overflow of text and images.

I think this is a core to how much a distract myself from doing other unique things (reading a book, making something, writing), it's like I have been used to eating candy all day whenever I wanted to and now I have gotten rid of the candy; it's strange. Opening up this point though is creating the opportunity for to recognize it and turn the itch for consumption to hopefully an itch for making.
